Musings from Table 67

Musings from table #67: Delegate assembly started today with a gift of a painted hand print that contained a note from the children that stated they were praying for us. Throughout the day it was obvious to me that I was being prayed for and that the delegate assembly was being covered in prayer. I especially appreciated the many times that we stopped to pray as a group at our table or as the entire delegate assembly.

The work of delegate assembly is completed in assigned table groups and I have had the privilege of getting to know and being church with eight other wonderful people from around the country. We are all very different and have learned to trust each other and listen to each others concerns as we have worked at the discernment process. 

The results of three votes were announced today: 1) the Israel-Palestine resolution has been tabled until the 2017 convention; 2) the Forbearance resolution passed with 71% approval; and 3) the Membership Guidelines resolution passed with 60% approval

At the end of the day we spent time with our table groups sharing and praying. As a group we concluded that the work across MCUSA has just begun for all congregations including PVMC.
