Our Congregational Goals
The goals were originally adopted on May 25, 1997. The vision statement was developed by pastors and Elders, and endorsed by the Congregational Council and Commission chairs at the annual planning retreat on Sept. 27, 2009. |
A Leadership Vision for Our Times
In recent years we have witnessed increasing polarization in the church, nation, and around the world, as we face the challenges of cultural changes and political divisiveness at home, and terrorism and religiously-motivated violence abroad. We are finding Christian unity more challenging as these points of stress play themselves out in the church, often around our disagreements over sexual ethics, but in other areas as well.
In light of these tensions in the church, in the fall of 2016 the Pastors, Elders, and Congregational Council issued a joint statement addressing our vision as leaders, articulating how we see our calling and identity as a church in these times.
