Youth Faith Formation at PVMC
We seek to build communities that cultivate and encourage lasting faith formation in youth as they develop as individuals. Our goal is to walk alongside them as they learn to worship God and follow Jesus as part of the body at Park View Mennonite Church, and in the world around them.
JYF (Junior Youth Fellowship), grades 6-8
MYF (Mennonite Youth Fellowship), grades 9-12
- Our middle school group meets for social activities 2 times a month. We play games, chat about life and try to create a welcoming space for all
- JYF has an active faith formation class with discussion, bible study, and of course movement, laughter and food.
MYF (Mennonite Youth Fellowship), grades 9-12
- Each November the MYF goes on retreat together at Brethren Woods for a time of community building through focused teaching and group activities - a highlight of the year!
- In odd numbered summers, our youth attend Mennonite Church USA youth convention, most recently Kansas City 2019.
- In even numbered summers, we alternate between urban and rural learning/service trips. We intentionally do not call them ‘mission’ trips or just ‘service’ trips as we recognize the agencies we serve with and the people we meet will have much to teach us - our primary focus is not the ‘work’ we accomplish.
