The Convention program continued on this Wednesday with the rhythm of worship in music, scripture and the spoken word, following the Tuesday evening opening service which to me was astounding and inspirational, like no other I have experienced in a long time! The themes are well planned to prepare the attendees to be focused on Christ and the Love of God.
The 800 delegates were in session today around table groups of 8 with a leader in a room full of 100 such tables. The resolution on “Endless War” was endorsed by the delegates after good interaction, although only 35 minutes were available for the delegate discussion out of a 125-minute session. Another resolution on “Israel-Palestine” generated extended discussion resulting in splitting the delegates into about three equal groups, and the ballot vote results called for by the moderator-elect to determine if the resolution should be tabled have not yet been announced. This was something of a “warm-up session” for Thursday, when more resolutions will be discerned by the delegates.
