This evening we joyfully and defiantly declare our hope, in spite of dire challenges in our lives and world. This hope is consistent with the message of the angels who appeared to a young girl, to lowly shepherds, and other unlikely characters in ancient Palestine, proclaiming salvation to a people long oppressed.
We regret we cannot pack the Park View sanctuary again and lift the roof with our songs of praise, but we invite you to whole-heartedly praise the God of our salvation, by joining us in this live-streamed Christmas Eve Service of Lessons and Carols.
The prelude (at 5:40) begins with a variety of music newly prepared especially for this service. The readers of the scripture lessons have also prepared for this service.
The remainder of the music in the service comes from recordings selected from favorites from the last four years of our Christmas Eve service. You will see (and hear) a sanctuary packed full of people, and see faces of some of our friends who have passed on to further glory. You may feel waves of grief or longing, as well as gratitude and anticipation of a better tomorrow. However God chooses to meet you tonight, WELCOME!
