Park View Mennonite Church Retreat (September 7-9, 2018)

Picture
So what’s it about?
As usual, we will practice “slow church” by being together for a couple days without a heavy agenda – simply spending time together in God’s good creation, conversing, relaxing, playing games, eating together, singing, laughing, and more.  Fun for all ages!

About our theme
Our theme this year prepares for our move back into our renewed space. It will focus on our mission and identity as a people called by the Spirit (as wind and breath). Can breathing the “fresh air” that will literally blow through our new HVAC systems, be a metaphor for breathing the wind of the Spirit? Can we imagine a new way to thoughtfully and intentionally breathe this Spirit-wind as we move toward the future God has for us? These are questions to ponder together on retreat.

Signing Up
Just click on the link on the upper right corner of this page. We will also have a paper sign up form.

Food
We have hired persons to prepare our meals again this year, so ALL can be involved in our church retreat experience.  We STILL need volunteers to help with some simple clean-up tasks. This shouldn’t take too much time.  You just come and enjoy! The costs for the food and the hired helpers are covered completely by donations given toward retreat.

Childcare
We have childcare activities this year during the Saturday morning session.

What should I bring?
Here’s a short list of things to remember to bring for the retreat this year:
 • water bottle (with your name on it)
 • your own coffee mug
 • bug spray
 • swim suits and beach towels
 • personal hygiene items for the shared showers
 • your OWN bedding/towels/pillows (this is true for all lodging options)
 • flashlight(s)

Cost of retreat

The costs of Park View's annual church retreat is covered entirely by donations. We want this event to be for everyone regardless of ability to pay. Those who register are given an estimate of the costs their household's registration entails. That estimate is only a guide. Give as you have ability. Even if you can't attend, feel free to donate, and help out those who can't give as much. Donations can be put in the bucket in the foyer on Sunday mornings, or at the retreat itself, or using this PayPal donate button. Thanks for your support!
