Park View Mennonite aims to be a place where children know they are loved, accepted, and valued. It's the most important thing we do to help them know the love of God. While home is the primary place for spiritual nurture, the church is an important partner in helping girls and boys grow up to be mature disciples of Jesus Christ. To this end, we offer these programs:
We provide classes for all children beginning at age 2. Enthusiastic teachers, well-equipped classrooms, and the "Jubilee" curriculum combine to provide a memorable learning experience, with a wide variety of biblical themes and hands-on activities.
The children are led in spiritual singing before going to Sunday School classes, learning a variety of simple and joyful songs of faith. Two choirs, Cherub Singers (age 4-K) and Children's Choir (grades 1-5) sing regularly in the morning worship service. The Children's choir presents one or two full-length children's musicals each year.
During the worship service infants and toddlers through age 3 are lovingly cared for in a safe and fun environment. During Sunday School, nursery care is provided for children younger than age 2, who are too young to be in class.
Every summer a week-long Bible School is offered for our own children and for children in the community. This past summer, for instance, 90 children enjoyed a week-long experience "Digging for Treasure," learning how God has been faithful through the years and learning more about the Bible.
Activites are planned for children after our monthly fellowship meals. Special seasonal events are also offered, such as "Easter on the Farm."
